The intelligent inhabitants of the planet Bortrum are called Barsols. They have always lived in Bortrum and have evolved from bacteria. These bacteria didn't have the need of eating, they had tentacles, and they did something similar to photosynthesis. The two differences are that instead of using water they used oil and instead of producing oxygen, they produced nitroxal (the gas barsols breathe). After about 673 million years the amount of nitroxal in their atmosphere was enough to allow the bacteria to move out of the oceans into the land. The bacteria then started evolving into small amphibians that had a body similar to a fish's, two arms and two legs. The weird thing is they started sprouting hairy extra arms around their head. These types of life forms were around for a long while, approximately 3.9 billion years. Of course they changed during all that time, their tail got longer and the hairy extra arms shrunk to the size of a finger. Then after the 3.9 billion years they evolved into the Barsols that live today. These new creatures are completely different from the amphibians, they are reptiles, they are cold blooded and they layed up to 7 eggs at a time. Their head is very long and thick, and they have a brain twice the size of the human brain. Their eyes are like big black marbles, and they have two sharp teeth on the top of their mouth and about 8 plain and smooth teeth at the bottom of it. They have 2 arms protruding from their belly and three legs, one leg is connected to their belly. They have really thin bones, and therefore very long but thin limbs.
